The Colinton Tucker Box (Tucker Box is Australian for 'lunch box') is an innovative, unique and beautifully packaged knitting kit. It includes yarn supplied in balls with center pull strings (ready for knitting), a pattern (adapted or designed for Colinton Mohair Yarn), recommended high quality Japanese glass beads, Unicorn Fiber Wash solutions for washing and blocking the finished garment, and a fun surprise! It does not include knitting needles or the steel crochet hook recommended for placing the beads within the stitch. All patterns recommend beading application by steel crochet hook.
Another innovative inclusion is the Dye Kit. The dyes are non heavy metal, acid dyes. They are used after the garment is knitted and the beads are attached. Simply soak the finished garment in warm water and wash solution, rinse and move to a stockpot on the stove full of clean water. Add the dissolved dye, turn on the heat. When it reaches near boil add vinegar to reduce ph to an acidic level. PH strips are included in the dye kit, along with detailed instruction and pre-measured dye.
